I have a question on marriages. I know that now if anyone marry's under 18 years old parents had to sign a consent. What about in 1800's? Did the parents of a 14 year old girl and 14 year old boy have to sign for their marriage consent? Thank you for any information you may have.

Hopefully, I may find someone with an old family Bible with revelant dates
or someone who can give me a lead where to look next. I performed a newspaper
search at the Indiana State Library with no results for the 1882-1883 time
frame.
I am searching for death records, obit or burial records or burial place, for
Adeline Ayers and John Milton Ayers who died in January of 1862 in
Indianapolis, possibly in the town of Acton. Their parents were Milton and
Mary Sturges Ayers. Thank you for any help or direction.

Hi Leon:
It's strange but I found a probate record that says
Thomas died in January 1838 and that his widow, Rachel
and Charles P. O'Neal were executors - [states that
Thomas married Rachael Dollarhide on 1 March 1827].
Rachael died and left Charles P. as executor. I know
that the Marriage Record states that Charles P.
married Rachel.
Do you have this abstract of the probate record?

Hello Nancy,
Thank you for responding to my query. Charles P.
O'Neal is one of my ancestors that I am researching.
He was born about 1808 (possibly in Ohio)to Thomas
O'Neal. Thomas was also in Marion County. Charles P.
O'Neal married Rachel Dollarhide 1 Mar 1827 in Marion
county. They had one daughter that I am sure of by the
name of Editha. She married John Schooley. As far as I
know, Charles and Rachel stayed in Marion County.
Don't know when thechildren's other childrens names
for sure. Rachel Dollarhide was born about 1806 to
Asahel Dollarhide. Believe Charles P. O'Neal had a
brother Hugh who was an attorney. All help will be
appreciated.
