I wrote to Marion Circuit Court Clerk on 7/5 asking if they have a Deed
Index and then I asked the cost for a copy of all the deeds for a particular
name. Yesterday I finally got an idiotic reply: "We need exact dates and
addresses in order to look for the information you are requesting."
Does anyone know if there is a Deed Index like every other county that I've
written to has?
Any idea what is wrong with the people working in the Clerk's office!!!!
Thanks.....I tried calling them but the recording says the line is busy &
I'm long distance.

TO Richard Mazlatsky and all...
I guess I missed a few postings! I am researching the
Corridon/Corridan/Corydon family in Indianapolis, too. I have found some of
this family buried at Holy Cross/St. Joseph's cemetery on the south side.
Who are the Corridans everyone (or just Richard?) is researching? I have
had a lot of trouble with this line.

Thanks so much on the help with Crown Hill Cemetery. But I have one man
whose whole family and a variation on the spelling, no one shows up. I
don't know about why almost everybody is buried in one cemetery. But
there are others. I assume.
The Coridan and Corydon families were not buried there. Any ideas for
other cemeteries to try? Philip F Coridan was in Indianapolis City
Directories until 101 at 36 years old.

Hi,
You can try Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis. Most of mine are buried in
Crown Hill but a few are buried in Floral Park. Hope this helps.

Researching in Marion County: Brown, Lewis, Downing, Dixon
I am a Baseball Historian and the internet has been a fantastic help in
helping me find missing players.
I live in NYC and have found many local players thru my own footwork and
research. And I have found hundreds using city directories and the
census. But some places were just dead ends because I could not get to
where the records were.
But the internet is increasingly becoming a big help. I have ben using a
St Louis Post Dispatch death notice and burial permit index online to
find many oldtimers who I had been searching for over 20 years.
But with Indianapolis I have hit a dead end. I have 4 plyers who end
around 1901 and one for 1926, but don't know where to go.
In St Louis, the Catholoic Cemeteries send you endless info on people
buried in their 12 cemeteries. Is there any on line resource or central
point of resaerch for Indianapolis?
Any help would be appreciated.
I wrote the person who asked how to get records for
Marion Co but did not have the address & then del her
email address so I will post it here for all to use.
This would be "old" Marion [marriage] records
and FYI Family Tree Maker "gen library" subscription
service has a listing of Mrion marriage/death/birth
records on line I found all my missing relatives & now
have copies of the actual records.
Marion County Clerk's Office

I sent info on the Book & page no and received my
information back in less than 2 weeks. Each marriage
records contained 3 pages "official" front page
application for license - Female

Good luck Barbara

Hi Everybody,
I have borrowed a microfilm record of the above items from FHC in Salt
Lake City. I have successfully completed my search of these records
relative to my family and ancestors. If any of you would like me to look
up a Baptism or Marriage record, E-mail me. This microfilm will be in the
local FHC for two more weeks.
