If anyone's ancestors lived in Woodruff at the turn of the century and
they would like a copy of a post card from that time of Woodruff I have
scanned; please just write me and I will send it to you . If you know
which house they lived in maybe I can scan you a current picture.

>Ancestors, the highly successful PBS series, returns in June 2000 with a
>new format, thirteen new episodes shot on location around the world, and
>the most current information about the quest for family history. After
the
>first series aired in 1997, viewers asked for a second series with more
>specific instruction about researching their roots. The new Ancestors
>series rises to the challenge with an exciting new emphasisCthe world of
>records.
>
>The series highlights records that family historians use¯such as
>newspapers, immigration records, military records, and the census. Each
>episode weaves dramatic personal stories of family history discovery with
>expert instruction from the nation's top genealogists and librarians.
>Seasoned genealogists will gain as much from these tips as those who have

Good evening one and all:
My name is pat and I'm an adoptee who is in search for her birthfamily.
I signed up for this particular list as my adopted family (father's family)
comes from Indianapolis and I truly believe that my birthfamily knew him.
He was from the northern side of Indianapolis.
May I ask something, is there a Sisters of St. Francis Organization in
Marion County? I'm particularly interested in a Home for Unwed Mothers.
How would I get a list from this Order?
Any input would greatly be appreciated.
Thank you.
I'm hopeful I might be able to help others out while here.

Hi, Ancyn --
Holy Cross Cemetery is located at 435 W. Troy Ave., Indianapolis. Phone
(317) 784-4439. Calvary Cemetery is located at the same address, so if you
call, don't be surprised is they answer "Calvary Cemetery." Sorry but I
don't have an address for St. Stephens Cemetery -- perhaps some else on the
list does?
Enjoy your trip!

Could anyone tell me where the Holy Cross Cemetery and St Stephens Cemetery
is located. I would like to make a trip to Indianapolis and want to find
gravestones of family members and take pictures. Thanks for any help.

My gf worked for the railroad (don't know which one) - but he retired, or may be died just prior to retiring - around 1930 to 1935. ( I haven't located a death certificate yet). I have contacted all the railroad info. on the internet, but there is no help. They tell me there are no records way back then. I've tried looking up "pension" but no info. for his name: CHARLES BENDER. He lived quite a time in Peru, IN. but most of the years were Indpls (& that's where he died).
Any one have any idea of where I could search???? Thanks, Jinna
Shelbers & Marios,
For those of you not familiar with this area, Johnson Co is south of
Marion Co and west of Shelby Co. Many connections between the three
counties.

but laid out differently with new information added.
Enjoy!

Do you have a local Family History Center? They may have these on microfich
or microfilm. They spent yrs. going around the states doing this and putting
it all in their libraries in various places in each state. Even the smaller
wards have access to these thru inter library loans. Beej in AZ Birth
