I'm not sure about any of your names, but several of them were either
friends or neighbors & perhaps kin to my SURBER family. The Surbers were
from the Shenandoah Valley in VA as were the group of about 20 families
who travelled to Ohio and then to Indiana by 1836 or so. There was
definitely a Bower family, and other names that were "close to" your
Ringer and Mowrey names.
Would like to compare notes. My family were primarily in Shelby & Marion
counties but not sure which Township in Marion. They were in
Indianapolis in 1850. There were other Surbers in other parts of Indiana
(all the same family but from different branches of it.)
BTW -- Do you have any Millers in Marion County? I'm hoping to find a
William Miller b. Germany ca 1780 who allegedly moved to Marion Co. from
Ohio about 1838.
Hope to hear from you.

The 1920 census has been out since 1992. Each census is made public 72
years after it is taken.

My Grandfather Claud MURPHY did steel work on high bridges and buildings. He
and my Grandmother moved around the Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana area for
awhile after they were first married. When my Father was born on the 31st
October 1914 they were in Indianapolis. I would be interested in finding out
what things were being built at that time. He worked for Brown Steel and
Hoist Company out of Chicago. Does anybody know of such things? Or can you
give me some direction on where to look?
Thanks,
Nancy in snowy Minnesota
The 1920 Census has been available for many years. The 1930 Census will be
released to the general public in April, 2002.
General info about the US census can be found at:

Hi,
I don't know who you were contacting, but I too had a Jacob Smith, originally
from Indiana, then he was in Missouri with a wife, Mary, and a son Edward,
and then finally in Illinois with his second wife Nettie.
Any connection?

Are there any descendants of the members of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church
out there?
It was located in Washington Twp, formed officially in 1836. It is/was
located at 42nd & Millersville Road.
The names I am specifically looking for are:
SHARTZ/SHARTS ENGLISH
RINGER BAUER/BOWER
SMAY PRESSLY
MOWREY BRAUN/BROWN
EASTERDAY
Most of these families originated in Frederick Co, MD.
Thank you for any help you could provide. Very interested to find further
information on these families. I have quite a few photos of stones from the
cemetery & 119 pages of church records, but not all.
Hello,
I have not heard of any being released as yet. Does anyone know
that

Hi everybody,
This is a test to see if I am really a subscriber to the INMARION
rootsweb notifications. If I am this is the deadest list in the
universe. I have had not a single E-mail in over 3 weeks. I've sent in 2
additional requests to subscribe. Daily I receive about 30 E-mails from
my other rootsweb subscriptions to AUSTRIA, INDIANA, & CASACRAM.

I am looking for a Jacob Smith also. There were two listed in the War of
1812 veterans. What have you found. Mine was my great grandfather and we
have not found him yet. Can you help?
I get a few emails but it is not as active as some of the others I have
joined.I asked for someone who had access to a 1920 census to do a lookup and
never got a reply.I haven't given up hope.

Would love to compare notes with any of the above or their descendants. They
are children of William Garstang Taylor Jr and Rose Marie Dougherty. William
and Rose lived in Indianapolis IN for most of their life. Their children
were born some time after 1910. Lorainne McCaslin lived in Redondo Beach &
Norwalk CA at some point, Richard in Columbus OH and Orlando FL, Bernard
lived in Indianapolis IN., John lived in Indianapolis and Orlando FL. Anyone
out there recognize these Taylors? Sue Taylor mamasnert(a)aol.com
Hi,
I am looking for someone who would be able to do some paid research for me in Marion County for ancestors in the early 1900's. My budget is limited, and I have never hired anyone to do research for me before. I have just begun a new fulltime job, and will not have an opportunity to travel as I might like for quite a while. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. My e-mail is ghowell(a)erinet.com.

It doesn't appear to have worked, I sent with Subscribe as subject,
subscribe in body and sent to INMARION-L-request(a)rootsweb.com. No posts
since that date which was on 02/11/00. Any suggestions?

Do any of you know of an individual who would look up 2 census records

Maggie,
There doesn't seem to be any items from INMARION-L-rootsweb reaching me
lately. I did send a new subscribe message to this sight. There has been
no response. Any Ideas?
