Can anyone tell me where I can find information about the Union prison Camp
Morton that was located around Indianapolis someplace during the Civil War? I
would like to know if there are records still in existence regarding the
Confederate men who were held there.

I need help finding a Cemetery in the Marion/Shelby counties area. My
grandfather was born in Action, Marion County, IN, in 1879. His family is
listed in the 1880 census in Franklin Twp, Marion County, IN. His father,
Isaac Hutsell, died 1888 according to the family bible and is supposed to be
buried in Buck Creek Cemetery. The maternal side of the family lived in
Brookfield, Shelby County, IN, which is just a few miles away. I cannot find
a death certificate for Isaac in either Shelby or Marion counties. I have
been to the Buck Creek cemetery that is listed, but it is the wrong one. The
description of the cemetery that I have from my family is that it is near a
rail road track and the fairgrounds. The original log church that was there
burned when there was a train wreck and fire. There are also 2 babies that
died 1882 that should be buried with or near him. I have a death certificate
for one of the babies, but there is no cemetery listed. Any suggestions?

Does anyone have any information about this book called "The Life and
Times of Jacob Dearinger"?? It was published in Indianapolis in 1983
and I'm trying to find out if it can be purchased.
I think this book will provide me with a lot of genealogical info on my
family; namely John Nelson Dearinger, who may have been his son. My
great-grandmother, Eliza Jane Dearinger was born in Indianapolis in
1845.
I have lots of family information to share if anyone is researching this
line. Please also reply if you know anything about the book. Thanks!!
