You might ask the Marion County Historical Society or call the
Indiana State Library. They might be able to tell you.
I just received a death certificate for my great grandmother Mary E. (MOORE)
SANDERS. She was living in Marion County and died there. The death
Certificate shows a cemetery by the name of MT. JACKSON. I checked yellow
pages on line but can't seem to find such a place. This may be another
State but thought I would start here. I was hoping someone might recognize
this cemetery.
Thank you,

Duke Realty is the company that destroyed Rhoades Cemetery several years ago
to build a warehouse in Indianapolis. That situation was the subject of

>Hello One and All,
> My family and I are on a letter writing campaign regarding the
cemetery at the Indianapolis airport, which, according to reports Duke
Realty Investments (now Duke - Weeks Realty) has expressed an interest in
for an expansion project of Federal Express. My cousin went out to the
cemetery this morning and the fence on the right side as you enter the site
is down and excavation has started along the side of the cemetery. Family
members attending our family reunion were at the cemetery 3 weeks ago. Duke
Realty Investments has already destroyed one of our family cemeteries
{Rhoades Cemetery} and appears well on the way to destroying another.
> While there this morning, my cousin recorded the information on 3
tombstones of soldiers (12th Indiana Infantry, 99th Indiana Infantry and
148th Indiana Infantry) and photographed the site.
> She also found additional information regarding family cemeteries in
some paperwork. We thought there were 3, but there appears to be 4:
> #1. Cemetery by Federal Express at the Indianapolis airport
> #2. Cemetery between the two main runways at the Indianapolis
airport
> #3. Bridgeport Road at the intersection with Harrersin Road
> #4. Old Seerley Road (has a wall around it and cannot be seen, but
so far she has not been able to locate it)

different sites.

Granville and Jane (Jackson) Love. Jane was born in England and Granville was born in Kentucky. Has anyone seen any information on this family, possibly in a Marion County biographical book? Thank you for any information you can give.

Janet,
I was able to find my husband's ggreatfather's death information from his
military records. It even had the copy of his ggreatmother's death record
when they closed out the pension file. You might also check the webpage of
the Veteran's affairs dept. We also received his enlistment info (that had
his father's name and address as next of kin notification, religious
preference, occupation, height and weight with physical description of hair
and eye color), A copy of his 1918 admission to the VA hospital in
Carbondale, Jackson County, Ill. gave us loads more of physical and medical
information. Hope this helps, Good luck on your search, Kat
I am a new subscriber to this list and subscribed for a VERY specific
reason. I am looking for information about the death of my grandfather's
brother. According to my father he died in a VA hospital in the Indianapolis
area. (According to his sister, the uncle died in a VA hospital in the
Chicago area.)
What is the policy is in Indiana for looking at vital records
yourself? I did contact the Indiana State Department of Health and they did
a 5 year search for me but didn't come up with anything. My other option is
to see if there is anyone out there that could/would do the search for me?
I am looking for verification of the death of Hubert LAUSCHER b. 30
June 1894 in Whitefish Bay, Door County, WI. His middle initial may be "M."
His father was Alois LAUSCHER. His mother was Elizabeth GEORGE. He died
after 1920 and according to the Dept. of Health didn't die between 1925-1930
in Marion County. I am not positive that Marion County is where I need to me
looking. I am also quite sure that the death would have been before 1935. I
want to know when and where he died, what was the cause of death, and where
is he buried?
Any and all help/information would be appreciated! If I can return
the favor by looking for information in Marquette County, MI, just let me
know!
Thanks,
Janet
Jack,
I have a Judea APPLE who married Levi C. GRESH in 1850 in Marion County,
probably. She was born in about 1823 in Ohio and died in Feb 1894. Her
father was John APPLE.
Judea (Judie) was Levi GRESH's second wife; supposedly they had 5
daughters. I'm descended from Levi and his first wife, Mary Ann
PRITCHARD, my ggg-grandparents.
Any connection to Harvey APPLE?
Thanks,
Betty Moore in (hot!) central Calif.

such school).
My Gf, b Ohio grad from a/the Indpls Med College c1870's, and I have never located any info re same. I'd like to get a list of
graduates, if such exists.
If your time permits, would appreciate! Thanks.

Joe,
I can't help you with the disposition of the graves, but can comment on
Camp Morton. For a long time, I tried to locate Camp Bigby outside of
Nashville for my gr-grandfather spent time there. Thanks to some helpful
Civil War buffs, I learned that encampments were called "Camps" and were
nothing more than temporary encampments usually named after the ranking
officer. Camp Bigby today may be nothing more than a farm field or woodlot.
Good luck on your research,
