Hello everyone and my apologies!
I am having a senior moment, please forgive me a silly question.....
IF...I have someone who, aged 63, was living in Indianapolis in 1920
(and I do not know when she died) would the Indiana State Library do a
look up for her obituary? Or do I have to have a certain block of years
for them to research? It is also very possible she didn't die in
Marion. Does the library cover all of Indiana?
Thank you very much!

Does anyone know of a Pearson Company which was based in Indianapolis? It was
located at 128 North Pennsylvania St. in Indianapolis.
The reason I am asking about this is the SS-5 form I received while trying to
obtain information about my grandfather mentions this company. A man named
Charles Howard Meredith worked for this company in Dec. of 1936. I still
cannot absolutely confirm that this was my grandfather, as the middle name
seems to be different than my other sources of information. That was the
employer listed. If anyone has any knowledge of this company, please post to
this list. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Richard Meredith

I am looking for information that will confirm my grandfather Elsworth
DeWitt. I believe that he was born about 1864 and was buried about 24 Dec.
1944. I am looking for information about his parents and siblings.
I am also hoping to find parents, siblings, birth date and death date
for his wife. Her name is Sarah J. Riddle. I believe she was born about
1876 and died about 1966. This couple lived in Indianapolis from about 1930
until their deaths. I am not positive that they arrived in the 1930s they
might have been there earlier.
It is my understanding that they both were transported to Beanblossom,
Brown or Monrow County for burial. Any information would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you Ralph.
I'm afraid that I left out a bit of information on my query. Melissa Ann
Finney died in Marion Co., IN. She was born in either Madison or Fanklin
Counties in KY. She married first, William D. Russell, second, Obediah Moore
and lastly, James Finney. She had a daughter with Russell, a daughter with
Moore, and three sons with Finney. Her maden name was Moore from either
Madison or Franklin county. Would like to have her obit to make sure that I
have covered all the siblings involved. Thanks BB

I am in search of the wife and parents of Richard Doughty of Marion
County, Indiana. All I know is that Richard Doughty signed for his son,
Robert Doughty and his foster daughter and minor, Lydia Adams to be
married August 21,1836 in Marion County, In.and Richard died on Febuary
11, 1839 in Marion County and left no widow. I need very much to know
this informatiom to prove a family line.

Looking for the obit of Melissa Ann Finney, wife of James Finney. She died 22
Mar 1933, and was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery. She was born 13 Jul 1854 in
Kentucky. Her daughter, Mildred, by her second husband, Obediah Moore, was my
mother's first cousin. Any information on Melissa, James or their family, will
be greatly appreciated. BB
Phyllis,
Thanks! I found a site with an 1895 Atlas of Indiana and located Gwynneville
(or Gwynne as it was named on the map). Now all I have to do is locate a birth
certificate. I don't think this information that I obtained from Social
Security is coerrect, but I don't have anything else to go on. I trudge
onward! And thanks to all of you for your help!
Richard Meredith
Richard,
Gwynneville is in ne Shelby Co, IN. It was originally a community of
Friends, I believe. It is unique in that at one time the whole town was
heated with a centralized natural gas source.
I can get the exact coordinates if you need them. If you head se out of
Indy on 52, go past Morristown to 700 east (almost to Rush Co) and then
go south -- maybe a couple of miles.
Phyllis
Shelbyville, IN
Gwynneville is about 20 miles South-East of Indianapolis, IN
It is SHELBY County but very very close to the RUSH County border
it's on Highway 52 East from Indianapolis going towards Rushville
hope that helps you!

Subject: [INMARION-L] Location of Gwynneville, IN
Does anyone know of a Gwynneville, IN?
Gwynnville is on US 52 a few miles east of Morristown. I believe it should be near the Rush Shelby Co line on 52, in Shelby co. It is now just a
wide spot in the road, but at one time was a small community to itself.. Jerry Bennett

Hi all,
I found a reference to "307 Huron St." in Indianapolis around the turn of
the century. Apparently it's no longer a street -- does anyone know where
it was located?
Thanks,

I am searching for the dates of death for my ggrandparents (about
1929-1939). The family story goes they lived with my gparents in Indy
(Marion County) and died sometime during the years above. Marion County
health dept. has no record of either of them (NEWTON/ELEANOR DUPUIS).
Do you have any idea where else I might look?
Thank you for any suggestions.
