I am Looking for information on parents and siblings of my
gg-grandfather, John Wesley Bryan. He was born in
1813 in Hopkins Co., KY.
I think he may have been from one of the Bryan families of the Yadkin
Valley of N.C., some of whom settled in Marion Co. Is
there anyone from these families that can help me? I found one John
Wesley Bryan in this family, at about the right date, but
with the wrong spouse (to wit: Morgan Bryan / James Bryan / Henry Bryan
/ John Wesley Bryan).
John Wesley Bryan married Mary Jane McCarty in AL about 1839. They had
four children in AL. (Franklin, Mary, Thomas
and Willa).
The family moved to Leake County, MS in about 1849, settling on a site
near Madden. There were four children born to John
Wesley in Leake Co. (Daniel, John Wesley, Jr., Mattie, and William).
