I recently have started looking for one of my "lost" ancestors. His name was
Roy HICKS, b. 11/1898 in Arkansas to Lawson and Cora HICKS.
Lawson died in 1901. Cora took Roy to Michigan City, Indiana where she later
died.
Roy was adopted by a family named "SMITH". (.......a hard name to research)!
He married a lady by the name of Delores. I do not know her maiden name.
The last account of him is in the 1960's when he came to Ark. (Clay Co.)
looking for his fathers brother, Uriah Hezekiah HICKS (my Grandfather). So he
knew he was adopted and that his name had been HICKS and where he came from.
He failed to find his Uncle Uriah because he was known only as "Pete" HICKS
and no one knew Uriah HICKS. Sadly, roy returned to Michigan City, Indiana
where he died not long after.
I would love to find any children or relatives of Roy (HICKS) SMITH. They have
a large "family" of HICKS that would love to meet them.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Rita (HICKS) DonCarlos
