Hello Everyone!
Yes we are currently putting a lot of the cemeteries on line in hopes of
helping those trying
to find their roots.
You are welcome to view our pages located at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~inlpccem/
Holly and many of the LaPorte County volunteers are not only busy cleaning
but they are getting new information constantly
from those that are freely donating additional data from old family records
and also reading many of the tombstones.
As more information becomes available, we'll update that particular cemetery
in our records and also on the internet for viewers.
We are so excited about this project and all new information being donated,
much of which has not been previously known.
In less than a year they have made great progress and it is wonderful to be
a part of this effort.
And if you are planning on visiting LaPorte County soon, perhaps some of our
information will help you in knowing which cemeteries
to look in, for the final resting place of one of those great grandparents
or other family members.

Subject: County Cemeteries
Hello Researchers,
We are progressing well on our project of indexing the county cemeteries.
The cleaning of cemeteries is the most important at the present but we are
forwarding on the indexing too.
We are rereading the stones in rows not alphabetical and we are not adding
last names if there isnt one.
We will show you that Tom Brown is in row 1 grave #5 and next to him is
Sally row 1 grave #6. This Sally could be a Brown or someone else. We
cant
put a last name to her with out research.
We asked prior if anyone had a family tree we would appreciate a copy so
we
can connect families in the older cemeteries.
Most of these cemeteries were before birth and deaths in our county which
began in the early 1880's.
So family records or sexton records(which are scarce) are our only way to
connect the families.
We are sharing our old records on the LaPorte Co page and on INPCRP sites.
If you want to visit this site maybe Deanna is listening and will forward
a
post where you can find the records she is entering. Remember they
are
old
records, but as we update we will re-enter the info.
Let us know if we can be of some help. And maybe you can help us in our
efforts to identify the families.

LaPorte Co. Pioneer Cemetery Commission
