Hello there,
I am new to this list.
I am researching KALE, ALBRECHT, WHEELER and allied families (Foerstel, Elithorpe,
McIntyre, Ellsworth)of LP.
Last week I received copies of death certificates for 2 of 3 individuals I had submitted
to the Health Dept.
The one that was not located was for Philander Wheeler who died in LP on 14 April 1899.
The note from the clerk indicated that she/he used the WPA index to determine that a
certificate did not exist. Is that standard procedure?
1899 is not all that long ago & I was genuinely surprised not to receive one.
Can anyone familiar with LP research practices comment on this? Should I try the State of
Indiana instead?
Comments & suggestions welcome!
