I wondered if someone on the list would be willing to help me find a marriage record for
my gg grandparents, John Mulligan (abt.1830-1905) and Catherine "Kate" McDonald
(abt. 1832-1913) were both living in St. Joseph County, Indiana when they were married
about 1860 or 1861. John Mulligan was living with his parents, Philip and Mary Mulligan
in Penn Township in 1860. Catherine McDonald was living with the Edward and Mary Mulligan
family in Clay Township in 1860. The family was Catholic.
From the 12 June 1860 Federal Census for Penn Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana:
Philip Mulligan 57 M Farmer 2000 300 Ireland
Mary Mulligan 55 F Ireland
John Mulligan 29 M Ireland
Theresa Mulligan 20 F Indiana

Their first three children, Edward - 1862, Alice T. - 1863, and Mary Catherine Mulligan -
1868 were all born at Mishawaka before the Mulligan family moved to Mankato, Blue Earth
County, Minnesota about 1870.
The following is an outline for John Mulligan and Catherine McDonald:
1 John Mulligan b: July 10, 1830 in Cherokee, New York or Syracuse, New York or Ireland d:
October 11, 1905 in Vallejo, Solano County, California Burial: October 14, 1905 St.
Vincent Cemetery, Vallejo, Solano County, California
. +Catherine "Kate" McDonald b: Abt. 1832 in Ireland m: Bet. 1860 - 1861 in
Mishawaka, St. Joseph Co., Indiana d: January 17, 1913 in Rochester, Olmsted County,
Minnesota Burial: January 24, 1913 Northfield Cemetery, Northfield, Rice County,
Minnesota
There is no record of a Mulligan/McDonald marriage in the St Joseph County, Indiana
records, which leads me to consider maybe they were married in LaPorte County, Indiana.
Any help in finding a marriage record for John Mulligan and Catherine McDonald would be
greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!
