Please join the LaPorte County Genealogical Society on Tuesday, August
13th. The meeting will be held at the LaPorte County Complex Meeting
Room, across from the County Historical Museum. Social Time is 7:00,
the Membership Meeting begins at 7:30, followed by the program. This
month's program, "The Underground Railroad in the Kankakee & St.
Joseph River Valleys", will be presented by Terry Douglas
Goldsworthy. Mr. Goldsworthy is the Northwest Indiana co-coordinator
for Indiana Freedom Trails and has been involved in researching
African American history for the past eight years. His research has
been published by the Indiana Historical Society and by Golden Dome
Productions in the video, "A Free Life".
Membership in the Society is not required, visitors are always welcome
and there is no charge for the program.
