The LaPorte County Genealogical Society March meeting will be held
Tuesday, March 9th, at the Swanson Activity Center, 910 State Street,
LaPorte. Social time begins at 7:00 p.m., with the membership meeting
and program following at 7:30. Everyone is always welcome, membership
is not required and there is no cost to attend the programs. This
month's program is "A Story of the Life and Accomplishments of Dr.
Mason G. Sherman, one of the Founders of Sherman, Aldrige & Haskell
Car Co.(predecessor of Haskell & Barker Car Co.), an Early Michigan
City Physician and a Civil War Surgeon." The program will be
presented by John Wendt, an avid Civil War researcher.
