Yes, I have a mitochondrial test result but I don't have the mutations with me.
I'll have them today and will send on to you. I haven't had the paternal test as I
know the origin of this family to the 1500s in Switzerland.
My mother's maiden name was Campbell. Her father, John, was born in New Hampshire in
1832. Her mother's parents were Christopher and Ellen Davis Lewis. He was born at
Coppice Gate, Kinlet Parish, Shropshire, England, around 1832. Ellen was born in 1836 in
Danville, PA of parents who immigrated from Wales. I haven't learned from where in
Wales they came.
In my years of inquiring about my Leiby/Liby/Libey paternal name, I was surprised to learn
that my ancestors immigrated from Baden, Germany while there are many Libeys who came from
Lancashire, Yorkshire and Sussex, England. In the Southwest of England, mainly in
Cornwall, the Libby/Libbey name originated. I say this, as a person with the surname
Libey today could have originated from more than one European location.
Diolch yn fawr, Court Libey
