QUERY:
Using Census records and "Mary Randall"'s 24 Aug 1892 or 1893 obit from
"The Warren Republican" and an Ind. Death Record, here is what I have gleaned:
Seth M. Randall/Randol b abt 1816 Ohio m 19 Nov 1840 [not sure where?] to Mary McClurg(?)
b abt 1825 Mercer Co., PA. They are on the 1850 US Federal Census in "Millford"
Twp, LaGrange Co., Indiana with 3 ch: Julia A.[7] Abby J.[5] John M. [3] all 3 children
b Ohio. I cannot find Seth M. Randol again after the 1850 Census. On the 1860 US Census
Seth's wife, Mary "Randal" is listed in the home of "Mathew"
[possibly Mathias McClurg [30] b PA. The same 3 children from the 1850 census are listed:
Julia A.[18], Abigail[16] John[9] all b Ohio 2 younger children: Marion [9] &
Emma [7] both b Indiana. Mary Randall's obit describes her as, "the mother of
six children two of whom only survive" [If correct, then the other 4 all d before 22
Aug 1893] The surviving children are named in the 1892-3 obit. I would like PROOF that
Mary was INDEED a "McClurg."

Mary's obit:Obituary - "The Warren Republican," Thursday, August 24, 1893
"Mary Randall was born in Mercer Co., PA Jan 21st 1820 and died Aug. 22nd, 1892?
at Huntington, Ind., aged 72 years, 7 months and 1 day.
Her maiden name was McClurg, she was united in marriage to Seth Randall Nov. 19th,
1840. She was the mother of six children two of whom only survive.
She joined the Christian church 35 years ago and continued a faithful and consistent
member till death. When the messenger called she expressed resignation to the will of God
and her willingness to go. Blessed are they that do his commandments. They shall have a
right to the tree of life and shall enter through the gates into the city. A form walks
over the earth with silent tread. He bears our best loved ones away and then we call them
dead.
The funeral was preached on Wednesday, by Rev. Geo. Hubbart, and interment was in the
Spark's cemetery."

NOTE: The FTM Date Calculator yields 1892 as the year of death based upon the birth date
and age at death provided in the obituary. The newspaper date is supposedly "August
24, 1893." Either the date of the newspaper is off a year or something is incorrect
within the obit. Also, I would like a copy of her marriage record to confirm her maiden
name as "McClurg" I have not been able to locate a marriage record to date.
