In the 1830 IN Owen County Wayne township Census is show a young man by
the name of Washington Adams between the ages of 15 and 20. Living in
his household is a male child under age 5 and a lady between the ages of
20-30, most likely his wife and child. This family was not shown in the
1840 census so they either moved away or something happened to the
family unit.
Does anyone out there have a history of Owen county, Wayne township that
might show what happened to this Washington Adams family? Perhaps a
death of the wife?
In the 1840 IN census for Lagrange County,Bloomfield township is shown a
Washington Adams between the ages of 20-30 with a male child between the
ages 10-15 and a female under age 5 and a female 20-30. Could this be
the same Washington Adams with another wife? We know that in 1832 this
Washington Adams married Laura Hill, daughter of Dr. Moses Hill. The
young girl under age 5 is Mary J. Adams.
Is there anyone out there who can help solve this mystery? Thank you
for your help.
