My great grandmother Ida Mae Pixley married Smith
Cunningham b 8-11-1859. Smith & his brother Rush were
orphans & were adoped by the Cunnunghams. Smith
was a small man who was a ditch digger at one time.
There is a farm that is still there on Road 600 in Topeka
Indiana, now owned by a amish family. It is said that
Rush lived in Ligonier,IND. Smith and Ida had three
children. Edward Jay, Aurel Bell,my grandmother, and
Ernest Orval two had red hair.
My great grandfather Elijah Pixley married Lucretia Massey
settled as farmers Topeka Clearspring Townshio and
donated land for Beulah Church, cemetery and school.
Cemetery adjacent to Pixley farm. Many Cunninghams
buired there, but not sure of Smith & Ida Cunningham, only
a headstone for Cunningham. We are certain they are
buired there. To reserch.
I have photographs & more history. My mother Violet Mae
Pixley Cunnungham Bussie Maraviov, is 89 and the last
of her family, although her mind is still sharp she is not in
the best of health.
Hope this information can be of some help.
