I.B. NEWNAM SUCCUMBS TO TUBERCULOSIS
Was Pioneer of LaGrange County and Known Throughout District
I.B. NEWNAM, a pioneer of Milford Township, died last night after suffering for a long
time with tuberculosis. Mr. Newnam was born in Milford township, January 4th, 1841 and
spent his entire life upon the same farm. He was a leading farmer of this community and
owned many acres of finely improved land. He leaves his wife and three children, Dr. H. M.
Newnam of South Milford, and Mrs. Wm. Walter(s) who has been residing with the deceased
and Mrs. Samuel Bell who resides one and a half miles south west of this city. Mr. Newman
was widely known and has many friends to mourn his absence. The funeral will be held
Wednesday afternoon at the house. Rev. Mawhorter, Wawaka officiating. Burial will be at
the South Milford cemetery.

Isaac B. Newnam was father of my paternal grandmother, and son of Gary P. NEWNAM who
migated to LaGrnge County from Talbot County, MD in 1836.
