Dr. Joseph Dewitt Seybert was my grandfather who died before I was born in the early
60's. My father was JDS Jr. Who married Nancy Colbert from Washington, Ind. Joe Jr.
occupation was a salesman. He also had a brother Tom who also became a doctor and lived
in Indianapolis with his wife Patsey and their five children Susie, Cherie, Linda, Tom and
Brian. Tom passed away in the early 1990's.
I am the youngest of the four from Joe and Nancy Seybert. Joe and Nanacy spent a good
part of their lives in Southeastern Pennsylvanina where I grew up. All Joe's children
were born in Indiana. We also lived in Atlanta Georgia for 5 years in the late 60's
to early 70's and then moved back to PA where they lived until Joe died. Joe and
Nancy Seybert have both passed away. Joe in 1999 and Nancy in 2005. Their children are
Kathryn, Joseph, James, Robert. Jim and Bob live in southeastern PA. Joe lives in
southern New Jersey and Kathy lives in Illinios. The grandchildren are (Kathy &
Micheal Andrechak) John Seybert Andrechak, (Joe & MaryAlice Seybert) Katie,
Christopher and Annie Seybert. (Jim & Libby) no Children, (Bob & Maureen Seybert)
Kelly, Molly & Haley Seybert.
I do have fond memories of visiting Kendalville, Ind and Grandmother Seybert. The house
was grand and there was still a 1928 model-T in the garage that we would take a spin in
whenever we visited. Mae died in the 1980's and the house was sold. I think my
cousin Brian got the model-T. I think he still lives in the Indianapolis area. I also
remember visiting Aunt Sylvia in the nursing home. Both she and my grandfather (her
brother) were diabetic. None of my brothers sister's or cousin's have diabeties
that I know of.
