I am very interested in this Lewis line! These are descendents of Samuel Lewis?
The LaGrange connection is one I have not been aware of. I am descended from Sally Lewis
Carpenter through my Moak line.
Our elusive Moak line lived in LaGrange Co and White Pigeon areas c. 1835. and also in St.
Clair MI c. 1840's and on.
Do you have any information on the Carpenter or Moak lines by chance?
Jan

Thank you again for responding Kathy. I've seen probably most of your threads
egarding Olmstead, on these message boards, and was hoping that you've gotten
urther in your research, since the years have passed away. Like I said, I
lways tried to respond to you someway in the past, but didn't know if you were
till doing the genealogy or not, for this Lewis line.
Thanks for letting me know that you updated your gedcom, I'll take a look at it.
etween you and Sarah, I've at least learned a great deal more about my family
hen ever before and have been able to speak with new members of my family that
never knew existed, including you.
That's a first I've heard of the Olmstead/Connecticut idea being brought into
he picture. Interesting! I have a huge feeling Olmstead's name was used or
ritten differently periodically throughout his life, as in most of the
ocuments we all come across in that period of time. Too bad for us! It seems
ike for Olmstead, it is more guess work, then actually documented proof. If
nly one piece of paper could lead us somewhere............ there would be
everal family members that are following this line to suddenly become thrilled
nd relieved to finally know!
Please keep in touch, my distant relative, it's good to chat with you. In case
ou haven't seen my page, it is:
http://www.genealogy.com/genealogy/users/l/e/w/Jo-Lewis-1/index.html
If needed, you can always contact me from the email off that site. Shamefully, I
o have to update the actual gedcom, it's been awhile, but will probably be
ater on, when I have more time and can catch-up.
Take care and I wish you the best in your life and this research.
Jo Ann
