Richard, Thank you!!!! My Great grandmother is your grandmother's sister. Martha
Balyeat. I have copies of Sulvilia and Bessie Belle's marriage licenses. You did clear
up the year of her birth, as I have found 1889 and 1892. Do you have anything on Markey
Ballieard? WE put in Marquis and found in the 1880 U.S. census a Joshua Balyeat with a
birth date of 1837 in Milton, Ashland, Ohio. He was married to a Sarah and had a
Theodoria, Mary, Emma, Marquis and Edwin. The sibilings that I have for our grandmothers
are Mary, Albirt, Sulvilia, Besse Belle, Martha, Margaret Irene, a Leizzei, a Lvessi or
Laessi D. and Ed or Edwin. Edwin my mother remembers as uncle Ed. Some of these names came
off the Newbury Twp. 1900 census, 7 June 1900 LaGrange Co, Ind.
I have corresponded with a Cindy Carey from Battle Ground,Wash, who is related by
marriage. Her fathers mothers brothers ( Horace Marvin and Francis Emory) were married to
my great-grandmothers sisters, which is your grandmother. Bessie Belle and (she has it
spelled Savilla Bayleat or Ballieard. On Sulvilia's Marriage license, Markey signed
his name Ballieard and that was the 28 May 1910. Then on Bessie Belle's marriage
license he signed his name Markey Balyeat. The date on her's is 6 April 1912. This is
quite a puzzle!! Where are you at? I am in Wyoming. I also found a Marquis Delafayette
Bayleat born the 7 June 1872 in Ashland County, Ohio. He died 10 Mar. 1950, Pavonia, Ohio.
HIs Father was Joshua Balyeat who was a twin. I'm not sure if this is any relation to
our Bayleats. Did your grandmother have only four children? The ones that I have are
Alfred Reuben, Robert Roy, Retha Elizabeth, and Ezra. I look forward to corresponding with
you and if you would like any of the in!
formation I have I would be delighted to make you copies and send them to you. Thanks
B.J.
