Greetings to all of you from Indianapolis.
A short time ago, someone remarked that they had a strange birth certificate
from Indiana, one with no signatures. I might possibly be able to help you.
My wife's sister, who lives in Canada, was born in Lagrange County. I don't
remember all the details, but the birth certificate she had, had different
information that the one on file here in the State of Indiana records.
There is a fee for getting the birth certificates, obviously; the fee
basically covers their time, and if they can't find the certificate, you
still have to pay the fee. Or, if it contains the same information on the
"strange one", they you haven't gained anything.
If you would like, I would be happy to go to the Vital Statistics office,
and try to get one for you; then, you could send me a check for what ever
the cost would be; I think it is around $10.00. Since I am not a relative,
I am not sure I could get it, but I will try. Probably if you sent me a
notorized statement from you, with you name and address, and relationship to
the one I am looking for, I would think they would let me have it. I can't
guarantee how long it will be till I get downtown, but if you're in no
hurry, I'll be happy to try.
If any of you want for me to try this, let me know.
