It helps, indeed! Thank you immensely!
I have posted (2-25-2008) this response to a very OLD (1998) post in the Chenango Co., NY
USGENWEB ... and thanks to your efforts I can seal a connection that I suspect to be so:
BEEBE - CLEVELAND
John Glassmire Mon Nov 16 03:58:31 1998
Seeking any info inre Charlotte BEEBE or Merritt CLEVELAND. He was born on the 20th of Oct
1821 in Bainbridge and his father was William. Charlotte and Merritt had five children,
but only two are known for sure...Addison s. CLEVELAND b 1842 and Rosella. Regret that
that is all the information which is possessed and hope someone there can provide me with
background on Charlotte and her ancestors....Thanks from SE Ohio and warm regards....John
I find an Addison S. Cleveland, born in 1843, a Civil War veteran, who died 19 April, 1930
and is buried in Koisciusko Co., IN. He married a Jane A. Hadkins (born about 1855) in
Kosciusko Co., IN, and had at least one child William "Marritt" (from his
son's obituary, and the spelling of the middle name looks fishy to me) Cleveland, born
in 1873 in Indiana. Addison S. Cleveland was living with his son William Marritt
(Merritt?) Cleveland, husband of a Florence (or Flora) Reed and his family at the time of
the 1930 Census in Scott Township, Kosciusko Co., IN as a widower. I think that I have a
match; Addison isn't a common given name, and the middle initial matches. We may be
off by one year on the birthyear... so we likely have a match.
An obituary of Raymond W. Cleveland is to be found in the Sturgis, MI journal; an obituary
of Raymond Cleveland's son
Aldon K. Cleveland is to be found in Angola, Indiana.
Much of this data comes from the USGENWEB pages for Kosciusko County, Indiana.
