Martha Jane Biehl, 86, of rural North Manchester, Indiana, died at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday,
September 11, 2012 at Wabash Skilled Care Center. She was born January 2, 1926 in Wabash
County, to Everett and Cora (Deal) Stouffer.
Martha Jane was a graduate of Linlawn High School and Manchester College. She married
Eldon E. Biehl in Wabash on June 11, 1950. She was a school teacher at Chippewa High
School 2 years, and also was a substitute teacher for many years. She grew up in the
Wabash Friends Church. Martha Jane was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and
the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Ladies Night Out Home Economics
Club. She enjoyed genealogy, scrapbooking, working crossword puzzles, being the bookkeeper
for several organizations, and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Eldon E. Biehl of North Manchester; 4 children, Larry
(Donna) Biehl of West Lafayette, Indiana, Dennis (Barbara) Biehl, Marilyn (Darrell)
Penrod, and Donna Penrod, all of North Manchester; 15 grandchildren, and 15 great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Wabash Friends Church, 3563 S. St. Rd. 13, Wabash on
Friday, September 14, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with David Phillips and Rev. Randell Webb
officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia. Friends may call 4-8 pm Thursday
at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave. Wabash and 1 hour prior to
service Friday at the church.
Preferred memorial is Wabash Friends Church or Wabash Skilled Care Center.
