My gggrandmother Sarah Elder's maiden was Hoppis! She married William
Elder on March 9, 1851 in Kosciusko County. Sarah Jane Hoppis was b.
December 13, 1832 in Ohio, to Christian and Lydia Ann Hoppis (Glick),
Sarah d. May 20, 1901 in Claypool, Indiana.

Hi Trina:
I don't think this is part of my Hoppis line, but you never know. My
Hoppis/us family has been in north central Indiana since the mid 1800's.
But, some researchers say they came from Ohio. I haven't tried to trace
them
to Ohio yet, so I can't prove anything.
I'm sending your message to the Kosciusko County, Indiana chat list in
case
someone there may be able to help you.
Also, have you tried looking at your Grandmother's birth or death
certificate? That should tell you where she was born/died and who her
parents were.
