Just yesterday I posted a web site to the list which is operated by
Symantec and gives a lot of information about viruses, even listing the
ones that are real or a hoax. It tells about the Happy 99 and how to deal
with it.

Subject: [INKOSCIU-L] Virus Alert - a REAL one!
Date: Friday, February 12, 1999 4:54 AM
HI Everybody:
I've gotten three warnings like the one below from the listowners of some
genealogy chat lists that I belong to, so I feel like this virus is real.
Personally, I haven't received this attachment - the listowners
have
stopped it from being posted on their chatlists before it reached me.
I'm
updating my Norton Anti-Virus as soon as I send this message out - I
recommend that ya'll do the same.

>Twice I received two messages with the virus trojan horse attachment.
Both were bounced to me as listowner because it contained virus worm.
The attachment is named Happy99.exe
Do NOT open the attachment to read. The sender is usually named Sluggo
from
surfsouth.com. The apparent objective was to try to hide behind
files and steal passwords and sent to somewhere else.
I tell you it is REAL one! Because I had been warned about him by other
listowners who had the misfortune of opening the attachment.
