Jean.
I looked in the Kosciusko co. marriage application records (published by Kos. co.
Genealogy Section, compiled by Marjorie Nye) and
found:
John R. Huffman (age 27) marrried to Prudence D. Murphy on May 28 1896. Prudence was 17
and her parents are given as Robert Murphy &
Hannah Porter. Wish they were all this easy to find.

I am seeking info on two of my great grand mothers. The first is
PRUDENCE HUFFMAN wife of JOHN R. HUFFMAN. They had one daughter GLADYS
MARIE born in March 1898. The family appears in the 1900 census for the
county. I'm trying to find Prudence's maiden name and family. She
evidentally died sometime between 1900 and 1920. JOHN R. HUFFMAN then
married DELLA ? and they had one child CLEO MAE HUFFMAN.
The second line I'm seeking help with is that of KETTURAH HOPPIS,
daughter of DANIEL HOPPIS. Census records show that DANIEL would have
been born abt. 1823-24 in PA. Others listed in the 1880 census include
MARSIALE (illegible) b. abt. 1840-41 IN, MALISSA b. 1846-47, JOHN b.
1848-49, JANE b. 1851-52, AMANDA b. 1853-54, MERNERVA b. 1864-65, and
?(first name illegible possibly Otis) JAMES b. 1866-67. KETTURAH was
born in 1859 and died in 1948 buried next to her husband JOSIAH BRANT in
Wooden Cem. in Harrison County. there appears to be no one in the census
of appropriate age to be KETTURAH'S mother. Presumably DANIEL had a
second wife ? MARSIALE much younger than he. Seeking to identify
KETTURAH'S mother and where in PA the HOPPIS family came from. MALISSA
AND JOHN were born in Ohio and all others in Indiana.
Any assistance on either of these families would be greatly appreciated.
