Oma Jean Curtis, 72, of 911 S. Union St., Warsaw, passed over into heaven April 16, 2003,
in her home while surrounded by her family. She was diagnosed with an inoperable brain
tumor in January. She was born July 4, 1930, near Prestonsburg, Ky., to Joe McKenzie and
Maudie Mae Miller. On March 1, 1947, she married Jesse Bradley, who died Nov. 16, 1972.
On March 14, 1977, she married Bill Curtis, who survives. She worked at Zimmer, Inc.,
Warsaw, for 19 years, retiring in 1990. She moved to Indiana in 1945, living in Wabash
County until 1974. She resided in Warsaw since that time. She was a member of Living
Hope Ministries. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Dee (Joyce) Harris, Pierceton,
and Mrs. Mike (Judy) Brainard and Mrs. Todd (Brenda) Shulherk, both of Warsaw; a son, Dan
Bradley, Warsaw; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Paul (Angie) Groninger, Schoolcraft, Mich.; eight
grandchildren: Ryan Wampler, Fort Wayne; Jesse, Shane and Whitney Bradley and Travis
Brainard, all of!
Warsaw; Shannon Bradley, North Manchester; Jamie Brainard, Silver Lake; and Shawn
Harris, Pierceton; two step-grandchildren, Hannah and Nicholaus Groninger, Schoolcraft;
five sisters: Opal Bradley, North Manchester; Mrs. Wayne (Vada) Whitaker, Mrs. Terry
(Edith) West and Erma Brandon, all of Warsaw; and Mrs. Larry (Ethel) Stone, Argos; and
four brothers: Jack and Charles McKenzie, both of Claypool; Earl McKenzie, Warsaw; and
Larry McKenzie, Overland Park, Kan. She had many nieces and nephews that she loved and
who supported her during her life. She was preceded in death by a son, Frank Bradley, a
stepson, Rick Curtis, and a brother, Willie McKenzie. Services will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Wayne Whitaker officiating. Burial
will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton. Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at the
funeral home.
