McNeil cemetery (from Lester H. Binnie's book Cemetery records Vol. IV
Tippecanoe & Washington Townships) is located in the SW 1/4 of section 15
in Washington Township, about 1/4 mile east of State Road 13. This cemetery
has been abandoned for many years. It is unfenced area surrounded by drop
land except on the south side. It is overgrown with crab apples, hazel
bushes, briars, poison ivy, and myrtle. There are about twenty beautiful
walnut and wild cherry trees, eight to twelve inches in diameter, growing in
this area. About half of the stones were standing in 1976; many were broken
in several pieces.
By looking at a map this cemetery is located between US 30 and Old Road 30
just off of State Road 13 on the east side of the road.
List is Finton, James died 9 Oct 1861 age 67-4-7

Can anyone tell me if McNeil Cemetery in Washington Twp. still exists and
where its location is (or was)? I've spent about 8 hours wandering around
the area on seperate occassions and have not found it. Any information
would be appreciated.
For the curious, we are looking for James Finton.
Thank you!
Rebecca
