This recipe did NOT originate in Warsaw. Both my family and my
husband's family made this pie all the time. It was my father's
favorite. I couldn't stand it because it was too sweet. Both families
lived in Ohio, so who knows where it came from!! Margaret Calvin in
SE Ohio now

Bless you!!! I have never met anyone else who had ever heard of
this pie. People always raise their eyebrows because there's no eggs
or vanilla in it---I guess they can't get past custard pie, which
this is not!
It was my grandmother's recipe and I got it from my mother, who was
born in Warsaw.
One doubting family friend said "doesn't it get watery when the
leftovers stand after a day?", and I had to say I didn't know
because it never lasted that long. What leftovers???
Thanks for reminding me about this pie!! I haven't made it since my
kids grew up and left home. I wonder if I could eat a whole pie by
myself???
Do you think the recipe originated in Warsaw?
