Garland,
I know about that Monteith, as he lived in VanBuren township and that's the
township that I transcribed for the 1860 Census. I also was told about
Charles Monteith by a distant cousin who is also connected with the Edgells.
I would love to make a connection but haven't yet been able to do so. I
grew up in VanBuren township and had never heard of the name Monteith until
I met my husband. Most of his immediate family are from Ft. Wayne, IN and
Ohio. I haven't been able to trace anything beyond his grandfather. The
Monteith's seem to be quite illusive!

This is for Jane Monteith. I have Monteith in my Edgell line in K.
County.
Could there be a link? Charles P. Montieth/Monteith married Eliza
Ann
Edgell in K. County, IN - 29 Sep 1853. He was born in Scotland ca. 1827.
I
have been looking for descendants of that couple.
She is the daughter of Henry and Eliza Andrew Edgell.
