Will Janet read this on our site, or should we email directly to her?
From the newly on-line 1860 census, it looks like the best candidate to be
the father of her Henry Snyder is David Snyder of Washington Twp (b. ca.
1799). David is buried in the Hillcrest Cemetery, but died in 1872 rather
than 1873 (at age 73).
If anyone connects with this family and has information about David's
ancestor's, I'd love to hear from you, as I'm sure would Janet. My 4th
grgrandfather was a Henry Snyder of Cumberland Co., PA whose daughter
Salome Snyder Earnst was born 1797 in Cumberland, according to her son's
biographical sketch from Carroll Co., OH. Snyder/Snider/Schneider is a
very common name, but it could turn out that David and my ancestor were
siblings.
