It now turns out that there are TWO senior Snyder families moving from the
Cumberland PA area to Richland Co. OH in the 1830ies.
One family was Conrad Eli Snyder and wife Catherine Cockley. Catherine is
buried in New Castle Cem. Richland Co. OH:
"SNYDER, Catherine w/o Conrad- died Oct. 1843, in 77th y" [1766-1843]
Conrad Snyder said to have been born 1765 in Baden, Germany died in
Cumberland Co. PA and the family moved to Richland OH about 1834.
The other was John Snyder and wife Catherine Gehr. They evidently moved from
Berks Co. PA to the Cumberland Co. PA area by about 1831 where their
daugher Elizabeth (b. 1806) was married to George Plasterer. (see the
details below sent by Jackie Plasterer of the great Kosciusko List). The
Plasterer family had moved to North Bloomfield in Morrow Co. OH by 1850 and
are on the census, not far from the grandchildren of Conrad and Catherine
(Cockley) Snyder!
Going to add the 1850 Morrow County Snider/Snyders in say green. Snyders
living in the central west edge of Richland spilled over into Morrow and
Crawford Co. OH.
