Sorry, this is a hoax. It doesn't work! Your best protection against a
computer virus or worm is keeing a *good* antivirus program running at
all times and most importantly, updated every couple of days!!
Also, don't open attachments that you aren't expecting from someone.
Unfortunately these worms can come from someone you know without them
realizing that they're passing it on. I *always* warn someone in a
separate message before I send an attachment to them and give them the
name of the attachment I'm sending. After I hear back from them, I send
them the attachment.

Hello,
It seems that lately I have had more virus warnings from my
detection system than ever. I was sent this advice on how to help fight
computer viruses and it made sense to me, so I thought I would share it
with all. I hope you don't mind. I felt it was important to protect
our genealogy information that we have worked so hard on.
In the address book of your email account, type in as a new contact
**!0000 You can put this as the email address and the persons name.
Once you have this in the address book it will appear as the first
address of the list of your contacts. This is a bogus address and can
not be sent therefor, it is not sent to your list of contacts.
I can not say for sure that I know this works but I know a lot of
people who have done this and they say they have not spread any viruses
that have gotten past their antivirus system. I could see no harm in
trying. If anyone knows a reason that we should not do this please let
me know.
Best regards,
Brenda
