1) are you searching on a "dial-up" modem -- and if so, at
what speed?
..... or are you on a fast connection -- DSL or Cable or whatever?
I live in a very small town DSL is not available so dial-up is my only
option at this time.
2) have you found many branches or parts of branches? What about
accuracy??
I have found quite a bit of information some accuracy some a little bit
off.
What about good sources??
A lot of the county sites are really putting up excellent information.
They have been a fantastic help for an out of state researcher.
3) are you using World Connect on Rootsweb ... or are you searching
on
Ancestry.com?
I use World
Connect,Genealogy.com and gencircles amoung others. My
connection is to slow for the census images at
Ancestry.com
4) are you finding more "hints" to follow up on ... or
are you finding
"lines" & branches?
Both, I have found several new cousins, one who had the Hatfield family
bible and was very willing to share information.
5) have you had time to search any of the 1930 census on
Ancestry.com?
..... and any other conclusions that you may have.
I would love to be able to have access to this resource but I must wait
for a faster connection.
The greatest reward of internet searching is meeting new cousins and
exchanging information. I was even able to introduce some cousins to each
other that lived in the same area and never knew they were cousins, and I
live several states away. The internet is a very powerful tool and
getting better every day.
