I believe that Amos Pegg did not die until after 1880. He appears to be listed in the
1880 census for Harrison, Kosciusko Co. You can find the census info on the LDS website
where they now have the whole 1880 census for US, Canada and Britain. (Amos was listed as
a chairmaker in the 1850 census for Kosciusko). I did not find him in the 1900 census. I
don't have access to the 1890 census so the best I can guess at for his date of death
would be between the years 1880 and 1900.
I have Amos Pegg's wife (Hannah Polen) dying in 1872 and 4 children listed for them:
Sara Jane, b. June 1837
Elisha, b. 1839
Mary A., b. 1842
THompson, 1845
In the 1880 census, Amos is listed with wife, ELZIRA, age 56, b. TN. I suppose he
remarried after Hannah's death.
I was able to trace daugher Sara Jane in the 1880 and 1900 censuses, but I have been
unable to find any further info on Elisha, Mary A. and Thompson. Would you happen to have
any information on them?
I also have quite a few Poland/Polen/Polings listed in my Pegg tree and would like to know
the parents of Amos' wife, Hannah. Do you have any idea who they were?
Sheri Pegg
