Dear list:
I have a question. I have access to the Kosciusko
county marriage index books at my library.
These books cover the period from about 1896-1922 or
so. And in these indexed books it lists the parents of
the bride and groom as well as the age of bride and
groom at the time of the marriage.
So my question is: When I send off for and receive
back marriage applications, why don't they have the
parents names listed, and the age at time of marriage?
I sent off for 6 marriage applications and only one of
the six listed the parents names and the exact date of
birth of the bride and groom.
How did they get the information for the indexes if
the transcribers didn't know the names of the parents,
and the ages of bride and groom?
Maybe it is another of life's little mysteries or
annoyances.
Marie
