*chuckle* I understand the humidity. We had our share of water about a week ago and
getting ready for more. I expect you'll be getting it as well. Thank you for that
valuable info. We could waste a whole trip coming on the wrong days and it'll be good
to see the lakes where our ancestors worked and played.

Jail Museum & library (in Warsaw) is open end of the week (Thurs, Fri &
Sat.) .... I think the Syracuse library & museum have better and longer
hours -- AND ...this is their "good" season, as there is much activity
around the lakes. I don't know their hours. ENJOY your trip here --
"excuse" the humidity! :>)

Marjorie,
Great information! Mike and I are planning our anniversary trip to that
area to
see Carrie's grave and to do a bit of research, so your information
will be invaluable. We'll be sure to come on week days. Thank you again.

Well, I will tuck those names back .... in my "shoebox" of names ...and
try
to see if there might be anything about them at the jail museum --
in
the
music room or in our vertical files. Once in a while we hit
"paydirt"
in
the most unexpected places! Bob Richmond, an older black man that
was
musically inclined and has lived around here for umpteen years, might
know
something, but I'm sorry to say, he has good days and bad days
....suffering
from alzheimers. That would have been my very first phone call --
a few
years ago, as I know he kept track of a lot of the old time musicians.
The other thing that might give some ideas would be the old Syracuse
newspapers. We have those on microfilm, but no one to index them :>(
....
Also, you might want to try the Syracuse Library. There's a
museum up
there
too ... Phone number 574-457-3022 (Library) 574-457-3599
(Museum).
I
suppose they both have e-mail address; but I don't know them.

wish I
could find out more about where she worked, lived and the dates she
lived
there. Also on Ross and what he did, when he died, where he's
buried,
etc..
And Paul...and when he was there. I know he had an apartment in
NYC but
believe his home base was in K county where his mom was.
