In the 1900 census Horace and Rebecca are in Jefferson Twp, Sullivan County, Indiana. Her
son, Earl McKim, age 16, is with them. It says he was born in Missouri.

Rebecca McKim (nee Padgett) and her husband Thomas McKim moved to Greene
Co., IN, from OH sometime between 1852 and 1854. He died on 25 Mar 1857 in
Stafford Twp., Greene Co., IN, after being hit by a falling tree. Does
anyone know where he was buried?
Rebecca continued to live in Greene Co. and is listed in the 1860 census. I
have been unable to find her or anyone in her family in the 1870 census.
One possible exception might be her daughter Elizabeth McKim. An Elizabeth
McKim of the correct age is living with the family of 72-year-old James
Kilgore in Mercer Co., PA. I do not know for sure that she is the daughter
of Rebecca and Thomas McKim or how she might be connected to James Kilgore.
In the 1880 U. S. Census Rebecca McKim was living in Jefferson in Sullivan
Co., IN, with her daughter Ella
McKim, age 23. She married John Wells on 13 May 1882 in the Pleasantville,
IN, Presbyterian Church. She also married Horace A. Edwards in Sullivan,
Sullivan Co., IN, on 19 Jul 1888 when she was 55. In the 1910 census
Rebecca and Horace were living in Sandborn, Vigo Twp., Knox Co., IN. She
has supposedly had six children.
Four of them were George C. McKim, Franklin H. McKim, Elizabeth Jane McKim,
and Mary Ellen "Ella" McKim. I know of no others.
Rebecca died on 17 Sep 1916 In Sandborn, Knox Co., IN, and Horace A. Edwards
died 8 June 1917 in Pleasantville, IN. He was buried on 10 June 1917 in the
Indian Prairie Baptist Church Cemetery near Pleasantville, Sullivan Co., IN.
Does anyone know where his wife Rebecca Edwards was buried?
Thanks.

No relation to me, but could the date possibly be wrong? I find a Rebecca J.
Edwards died July 17, 1916, in Sandborn, Knox Co. Indiana. Seems to be too much
of a coincidence to have someone the same name dying the same date and year, but
the month off. I got this information from
Ancestry.com. I checked usgenweb in
Indiana in Knox County, for Sandborn and also Edwardsport as that is where the
county health office is located, but did not find her name.

I have been unable to find her listed in any of the Knox Co. cemetery books.
