This is a long shot, but here goes...
Schneider is certainly a German name. There is a church in Johnson
Twp. called St. Peter Lutheran Church which was founded in 1869 by
Germans. It's possible (somewhat likely, actually) that the Schneider
family would have attended this church. Perhaps you could get in
contact with the pastor there and ask to have a look at their
records. I know they have records as far back as 1869.
You can find contact info for the church at
(
http://www.lcms.org/ca/www/locators/nchurches/c_detail.asp?C936579
). If I recall correctly, the E-mail address listed is not valid.
Like I said, it's a long shot, but maybe you can make something out of
it. Good luck!

Charles Louis Snyder
I am looking for information on Charles Louis Snyder dates (Dec 9
1844 - July 27 1898) buried Derr Cemetery near Pinkstaff Illinois
(across river from Vincennes in Lawrence county Illinois). Louis
and wife Lydia Duree and several children were listed in the 1880
census of Johnson township, Knox County Indiana. They only lived a
short time in Knox County, probably from approximately 1878 to early
1880s.
I am trying to determine if Charles L Snyder is the same person as
Louis Schneider, son of Anthony Schneider and wife Elizabeth, who
was in the 1850 and 1860 census in Ripley County Indiana.
