The "Complete Survey of Cemetery Records" published in 1974 shows the following
Buntes:
Bethel Evangelical Church Cemetery, Widner Township (vol. III, pg. 76):
Joh. Heinrich son of Heinrich Bunte & Louise geb. (=born) Kahre, 1862-1863
Herman Heinrich 22 May 1832 - 10 Feb 1900
Gedo. J 1860 - 1926
Mary his Wife 1874 -
Henry 6 Oct 1867 - 7 Aug 1949
Margaret Busse 12 Nov 1870 2 Dec 1920
Lucille 18 Oct 1911 -
Anna M. wife 25 Apr 1885 - 6 Oct 1946
Mary Mother 17 Feb 1836 - 26 May 1924
The one downside of this great resource is that family relationships get muddled, but it
looks to me like Johan Heinrich was the son of your Henry Bunte and Sophia Kahre (maybe
she was Sophia Louise, or more likely Louise Sophia, as it was common for Germans at the
time to use the second name). Both mother and son must have died in 1863. What surprises
me, though, is that Sophia (/Louise) is not buried here. The notes for this cemetery
mention, though, that many of the markers have worn down and are hard to read. Or,
perhaps, Herman simply didn't have enough money to buy stones for his wife and his
child.
Other assorted Bunte's buried in Knox County are:
William 1902 (no other dates, in Bicknell Odd Fellows Cem., Steen Twp.)
Pearl 1909 - 1969 (also in Bicknell O.F. Cem.)
Rozella, wife of Burton 1912 - 1945 (in Westphalia Cem., Vigo Twp.)
Hope this helps!

They had no children, but am looking for who he married after her death. Sophia came
from Germany in 1854 with my grandfather, Charles Kahre.
Any info on these would be very much appreciated. Thanks abunch.
