I have had several people send me information over the last couple of
weeks--THANK YOU! Compiling it all I have drawn the following conclusions
(unproven for sure, yet):
1880 Knox Co. Census
Rosa living with Seth and Mattie POWERS who list her relationship as a niece.
(Mattie WILSON and Seth POWERS were married 22 Nov. 1879.)
Rosa's sister Lillie living with William and Nancy POWERS (ages in their
20's), Mary DONALDSON (age 50), Mary's Son Willace (age 20)--[his last name
transcribed as WITSON, but is actually WILSON I think], and Mary's daughter
Sarah DONALSON. Lillie's relationship shown as granddaughter--probably to
Mary due to the ages. (Although William and Nancy POWERS marriage record in
1879 shows her as HELDERMAN-- Second marriage? I think she was a WILSON
too.) Why else would they all be living together and indicating
granddaughter if Mary and Nancy weren't mother and daughter?
If Mattie is a WILSON and Rosa EDWARDS her niece--Rosa's mother had to be a
WILSON also.
If Rosa's sister Lillie, is living with Nancy POWERS, and her mother Mary
DONALDSON and listed as a granddaughter, both women have to be WILSON's and
Rosa and Lillies mother another daughter.
John S. EDWARDS and Emiline WILSON were married 3 Feb 1873. (Rosa born that
year)
So we have 3 generations:
Mary E. ____ WILSON DONALDSON
Emiline WILSON EDWARDS
Nancy WILSON HAGERMAN POWERS
Mattie WILSON POWERS
Rosa EDWARDS KELLEY
Lillie EDWARDS BEATON
1870 Knox Co. Census:
DONALDSON, Harrison 57
Mary 36
older Donaldson children
DONALDSON, Sarah 1
WILSON, Emeline 13
WILSON, Martha 11
WILSON, Willis 8
Nancy probably out of home and married to _____HAGERMAN.
