I, too, enjoyed reading the newspaper articles. I'm looking for any mention
of the Henry Adam Esch family, his wife's family (Catherine Schmidt), and
anything about any Redmonds, believed to have arrived in Vincennes somewhere
in the mid-1800's. While my Esch information is fairly complete, I know
little about my ggrandmother Mary Ann Redmond, who, according to the 1900
Census, was born in Indiana. She and my ggrandfather, Theodore Esch, eloped
to St. Louis to be married in 1899. She left records of her family
relationships, birth dates, marriage dates, death dates, etc., in her old
Catholic Bible, but she left me NO locations. All I can put my hands on is
a copy of hers and Theodore's marriage certificate. Her mother's name was
Mary Ann Shelley, and, again according to the 1900 Census, Mary Ann Shelley
was born in Ohio. Mary Ann Shelley and John Redmond (Mary Ann Redmond's
father) were married in St. Simon's Church somewhere either in Ohio or
Indiana in 1866.
If anyone has any information relating to any of the above, please contact
me directly. I'm stumped right now, since there were few Redmonds in
Indiana, and Mary Ann Redmond Esch had only one brother, Thomas, who
survived to marry and have children. Mary Ann Redmond Esch told the 1900
Census taker that her father was born in Ireland.
Thanks for ANY info!

Thanks Sue, I enjoyed reading those. If you see any mentioning the
WEBER
family of Vincennes, I'd love to read them. I'm looking for more info on
William WEBER, b. 10 Dec. 1876 in Vincennes; don't know his parents or
siblings... yet!
