I have been trying for years to find Margaret Thorn(Thorne) in Knox Co. In. She was my
gr.gr. grandmother. Married to Martin VanBuren Thacker. Some say, she died and Martin and
his children moved to Mongomeery Co.Ilinois.
Have you ever run across any of these peope? Would apperciate any info.

Indiana
Hello Knox Listers: I'm new to the list and was wondering if anyone can help me with a
couple of my wife's Knox county lines that are interconnected:
Edgar Burton MC CORMICK, b. May 7, 1886 in Illinois to George A. MC CORMICK, b. July 1846
in Knox Co., IN, d. before 1920 & Mary A. THORN b. Jan. 1849 in Knox Co., IN and d.
1923 in Indpls. IN. Edgar B. died in Indpls., Feb 11, 1966. He married Rebecca YERKES, b.
Sep. 12, 1902 in Vincennes, IN to James Sherman YERKES and Margaret (Maggie) THORN, b.
April 1882 in Knox Co., IN and d.Oct. 1, 1916 in Vincennes. Maggie was the daughter of
John R. THORNE(b. Dec. 1851, d. Oct 16, 1924)and Margaret(Maggie) DAVIS (b. July 1863 and
d. Dec 14, 1926) who were married in Knox County on Oct. 24, 1878 and both are also buried
in Fairview Cemetery.. John THORN(E?)'s death record states that his father was Ben
THORN and that his mother was Mary SMITH. Some internet sources state that Benjamin V.
THORN was m. to Nancy SMITH. Other sources state that Mary A. THORN was an older sister of
John R. THORN and that Mary was first married to Edward MC CORMICK and later to his
brother George MC CORM!
ICK. Since the THORNS are thick in Knox Co. ;>) I would appreciate any help in sorting
them and their related MC CORMICK's and collateral lines out. Thanks in advance for
any help. Bob Goode
