in Boone County, Kentucky, and died August 22, 1910 in Sanborn, In. He
married EMILY JANE HAMILTON March 20, 1864 in Scotland,Greene County, IN,
daughter of JOHN HAMILTON and ZERILDA KEARNS. She was born June 24, 1848
in Boone County, Kentucky, and died May 3, 1924 in Sanborn, IN.

George Was a minister and recorded songs. He had a lovely Voice and it was
said that people cried when he sang, "Put My Little Shoes Away." As a young
Man, on his way back from Missouri he was Chased by Indians and spent a
night in a tree, Hiding while they camped under it; the next day he got to
Vincennes safely.
George and Emily had three sets of twins. Three of the boys made it to
adulthood.
George Washinton Sanders was born in Boone County Kentucky and Emily Jane
and her Family where also from Boone county Kentucky so the Kearns
Hamiltons I believe came to IN with the Sanders.

Mrs. Goodman Dies At Daughter's Home
Mrs. Mary Jane Goodman, 69 Years old, well known county resident ,passed
away at 5:00 O'clock Friday afternoon in the home of her Daughter, Mrs.
Kathryn Lester, in Bloomfield.
Mrs. Goodman had spent most of her life in Newberry. For the past few
years, however, She had made her home with her children. She was a member
of the Newberry Methodist church.
Her Husband, John F. Goodman,proceeded her in death four years ago. She is
survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Ella Crowthers, of Terra
Haute; William Goodman, of Terra Haute;Mrs. Golie Sylvester, Of Linton; Joe
Goodman, of Terra Haute; Mrs Mary Frisby, of Indianapolis, and mrs. Lester
of Bloomfield. Also survivng are two sisters, Mrs. Dora Rose, of Linton,
and Mrs. Ella Fuel, of Marco, and one brother Ed Sanders, of Bicknell.
Other survivors are eight grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Methodist
church in Newberry, and burial was made in the Newberry cemetery. The Kidd
Undertaking Company had charge of the arrangements.

SANBORN, Dec 20- Mrs. Bertha Martin, wife of John Martin died at her home
one and one half mile east of Sanborn between twelve and one o'clock,.
Thursday morning ,after an illness of about two weeks,with complication of
influenza and ex-ophthalmic goitre.
The Martin Family have all been ill with the influenza and the condition
in the home was pitiful. One scarcely able to wait on the other,the parents
and seven children, the youngest, not yet two years old.
Bertha Sanders was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Washingtong Sanders and
one of nine children in the home. She was born June 18, 1888 and was united
in marriage to John Martin at a very early age. Three months before the
birth of her first child Mrs. Martin became paralyzed in her lower limbs
from her hips, and has never been able to walk. Since that time she has
been forced to do her household duties in a wheelchair.
There has been fourteen children born in the home since the mother has
been in this condition. Four of them have proceeded her in death.Ten
children and the husband survive. The children are: Dolphus of Bruceville,
Mrs. Mattie Rincher, of Huron, Miss Cleo of Detroit, Michigan, John,
Ernest, Elizabeth, Helen, Hubert, Wallace and Melbert, at home. Two
brothers, John Sanders, of Linton and Ed sanders,of Bicknell, and Three
sisters, Mrs. Dora Rose of Linton, and Mrs. Ernest Fuel, of Marco, and Mrs.
Mollie Goodman, of Newberry, and several other relatives, and friends
survive.
No funeral arrangements have been announced.
