Antoinette,
I have also had the same thing occur and wondered why.
I also have some PONSLER family in my Gallimore family line. Alexander
PONSLER married Hester Jane GALLIMORE 18 Oct 1879 in Jennings Co.
Alexander's parents were Abraham & Cathern EMBRY but on the 1850 census he
was born in Ohio. (Their name was spelled Panchier) I also see that the
Daniel PONSLER and wife Martha also just above Abraham and it says he was
born in Ohio.
I've looked for a Charity Ponsler in the 1870 census' and didn't see her in
any state.
I don't know if this helped you but I just wanted to see if you have an
Abraham or Alexander in your family.
Linda

Subject: [INJENNIN] PONSLER FAMILIES
While working on my PONSLER lineage, and although I descend through
the
PONSLER'S of Shelby County, Illinois, I am trying to find "any" connection
between the Illinois branch and the Indiana branch, I was in Jennings
County, Indiana 2 or 3 times doing research, and have some records that I
was able to photocopy (1991, 1992 & 2002) and notice a duplicity (or ??)
on
the marriage of a Daniel PONSLER and a Charity WARNER. The copy I have is
from Jennings County indicating they married there on the 19th day of
October 1865. Yesterday while researching on the internet I find they are
listed in the marriage records of Ripley County, Indiana also with the
date
of October 1, 1865. Which is correct? I would assume the copy that I
have
from Jennings County to be the true date.
And if there is anyone in Jennings County who is researching the PONSLER
line, do they know of any connection between the 2 PONSLER branches. They
must be connected since most of the original family use the spelling of
SPONSLER, SPONSELLER and various other spellings, and most likely all
through the progenitor - Hans Phillip SPANSILIER (not sure of the first
original spelling without checking it out). I would definitely enjoy
corresponding with anyone researching this family.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
