Donna,
James Clarkson married Maggie Heath 31 March 1880 in Jennings County. She
is given on the 1880 census with James and the two children from his
previous marriage.
From notes made MANY years ago, I have the names of three of James and
Maggie's children: Hallie, Erma and Horace. This was told to me by my
mother, Hilda Beree Clarkson Taylor, the daughter of Thomas Osborn and Lena
Washington Miles Clarkson. She also stated that James and Maggie lived
across the street from Thomas O. Clarkson in Butlerville, Indiana. My mother
was born in 1907, and I assume she meant during the years she was growing
up.

I didn't find cemetery listings for anyone but James Clarkson, same
dates you have, he is buried in the Butlerville Cemetery. I did find a
death notice for James W. Clarkson:
James W. Clarkson, formerly a commissioner of this county, died at his
home in Butlerville, Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. He was 70
years of age. The funeral will be held Sunday. The deceased was a soldier of
the civil war and
was a highly respected citizen. From the N. Vernon Plain Dealer 29/Mar/1912

One more old comrade has answered the last roll call. James W. Clarkson died at
is home in the southern part of town last Wednesday after a lingering illness
or over a year. His death was no surprise. In the dark days of the Civil War he
ent to the front and in the hardships of camp life, he contracted diseases that
e never got over. He was a good citizen; he served one term as commissioner and
our years as postmaster at Butlerville. He leaves his aged companion, one son
nd three daughters to mourn their loss. They have the sympathy of all. Funeral
ervices were conducted at the house Sunday morning by Rev. Chesley Holmes of
ernon in the presence of a large crowd. The IOOF (Inter?national Order of Odd
el?lows) had charge of the final interment. He was laid to rest at the
utlerville Cem?etery.
I know he had Halle Clarkson with wife Margaret Heath and Bertha and Sidney
larkson with wife Elsie Davis but who was the third daughter????
ps who did Hallie Clarkson marry?
