I called the Indiana State Library Genealogy division today. I found an
entry for the cemetery in their online database. The librarian looked up the
material.
In 173 the Indiana Junior Historical Society inventoried the cemetery. There
was one stone standing:
William D. Couchman
b. Jan 1, 1805
died 1873
Looks like you extended family, Antoinette.
The 1870 census shows William had a son Benjamin.

I think the cemetery we have a hand drawn map of is the Couchman Cemetery.
Between SR7 and SR3 north of North Vernon, SR7 side of old Penn Central
Railroad bed.
Is it still active? Has there been an extraction done of the burials? I am
looking for the Steadman/ Stedman plots.

Am interested in this cemetery too. I have a Benjamin Couchman (s/o of
William) who married a great aunt of mine - Jennettie/Jeannette (aka other
spellings) Waughtel and would like to know if this cemetery has a connection
with this family.
