Here is a brief summary of (most of?) what I have on Demarcus Lett now that I have glanced

moved to Hindsboro; had 7 ch living with her at time of her husband's death; four
survived her (Mrs RA Hatton; Wm &
Martin at home; Mrs W D Wilson of Terre Haute. 1863 moved to Arcola. Member of the
Christian church from girlhood;
3 grandchildren Mrs Mabelle Hatton, Ervin Frances Wilson, Mrs Edith Wilson of Terre

Notes from obituary, (Arcola Record Herald" Thurs 24 April 1941). William Lett
died on a Thursday after 6 month
illness at poor farm east of Tuscola, IL. Born near Hindsboro, IL, moved when young to
Arcola w parents. Funeral 2pm
Shrader Funeral Home, burial Arcola cem. "Billy" employed many years as a
broom corn loader Thomas Lyons co; He
was a man of unusual strength which he demonstrated by bending iron bars around his
arm). In loading broom corn, he
could do the work of two ordinary loaders and during his years at the Lyons warehouse
loded more than 50, 000 tons
of corn. Finally he lost his sight and was forced to give up this work.
